My dance teaching course at the university level and in the private sector include modern/contemporary dance and somatic practices (QiGong, Pilates and Yoga) and build interdisciplinary bridges to literature (monologue writing and poetry) and the visuals arts and film. I also have an invested interest and passion in intergenerational and intercultural community movement workshops at a variety of institutions and communities.

My distinct contribution to the dance learning environment and in community building is my use of non-hierarchical spaces dialogic spaces, opening up tremendous possibilities for self-knowledge and transference of knowledge. My classes provide time & space for reflections and self-assessment as a habit of mind and its focus on transformative and life-long learning skills, carrying my students' dance learning into the places in which they live, work and breath.

Dialogic Spaces are defined “by openness and a multiplicity of voices—the potential for unbounded contextual meaning” (Wegerif, 2017). Embodied dialogic spaces can overcome language barriers, hierarchical power structures, and dominant perspectives.
