
“My [embodied] dialogic research is conceptually placed in a Western paradigm, but its underpinnings are strongly influenced by Eastern thoughts, values, and ethics found in Buddhist philosophies and beliefs” (Spain, 2024, p. 65). The dialogic path that I have taken in my doctoral pursuits expanded organically to multi-modal research and interdisciplinary practices, including visual arts and movements, as well as literature (monologues & poetry) and movements.
Dagmar Spain, in her logitudinal dance research explores together with the dancers Maria Banaszak, Louis Flothman, Karolína Grygarová, Raquel Lanziner, Lynne Scharf & Rozálie Starová the questions of what embodied knowledge means and how we can pass it on. How can this knowledge flow into many areas of life, transform them, and promote lifelong learning with and through the body?
